Tarik Rifai

Tarik Rifai received his BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the ETH Zurich in 2014. He focused on mechatronics and robotics and finished his studies with a Bachelor thesis at the MSRL where he worked on the design of passive magnetic actuators. He continued with a MSc. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on engine and propulsion systems. He further worked for an ETH spinoff company where he helped developing a sensor for performance monitoring. His Master Thesis focused on applying machine learning to develop algorithms for analyzing the pedaling motion of cyclists. After working as a research assistant, he joined the MSRL as a PhD student in January, 2018.

Sadly in July 2019 our dear colleague Tarik passed away. His unique personality will be dearly missed and the members of MSRL will keep his memory alive forever.
