Emerging smart material for theranostics

Smart materials are a class of materials that are designed to change their properties in a controlled manner using external stimuli such as stress, temperature, moisture, pH level, and electrical or magnetic fields. Our aim is to expolre and develop smart materials for their application in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Metal−organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of advanced, structurally diverse materials comprised of inorganic and organic components. The high porosity, large internal surface area, and thermal and chemical stability of these frameworks make them ideal candidates for biomedical applications, in particular for on-demand drug delivery.
